Early Daguerreotypists in 1840, by 1841 they were already photographing portraits in several seconds. From 1849-1851 they took 900 portraits of the members of the Assemblée Nationale. Between 1854 and 1858 they did reproductions of major monuments, architecture and sculpture. From 1855 to 1868 they recorded many images of the Alps including the ascension of Mont Blanc by Napoleon III and Eugenie in 1859, from which the album Haute Savoie, le mont Blanc et ses glaciers, souvenirs de voyage de LL. MM. L'Empereur et l'Imperatrice, was created (1860).
